If there are two lessons that every manager should learn, they are to stay organized and to keep in regular contact with everyone on the project team. That can be increasingly difficult when team members are operating out of different offices or even different countries.
A recent article by Aviva Directory entitled "The Entrepreneur's Guide to Web2.0: Top 25 Apps to Grow your Business" highlights the top 25 organizational, collaborative, and promotional tools on the web today. While the article is targeted for small business owners and entrepreneurs, almost everything on the list applies with equal force to team leaders and project managers. From the article:

I'm not claiming that these tools are going to revolutionize the way that your team functions, but a few of these tools have been helpful to getting me to be more productive, organized, and overall a better manager, so you may want to check out whether they'll apply to your team too.
