The first thing is to consider the various tools and products that you can use on a particular project. This depends on the technology standards your organization employs.

Next, the most important thing to do is choose the right number and right type of people to be on your project team. Most projects are derailed because of small problems like lack of enough good resources or alternately, too many resources. Another problem is the type of people on your project – they must be chosen with care to ensure delivery of the final product/ service within the stipulated time and on budget.
