The penny! - A web usability analogy
Web Usability is at times a murky topic, but boils down to how easily an end user can navigate and accomplish tasks on a website. I was thinking about this concept, and for some reason, the penny entered my mind. It strikes me as pretty funny how we have this practically useless item in our currency, and how much people don't like it. Even worse is that they cost more to make than they are worth.
This is a perfect example of a system that does not work. On the internet, we see sites all the time that also do not work. Too many businesses lose sight of how their website works and what it does (more importantly DOESN'T do) for the end user.
In my blog I explore the ideas between this real world usability example and the importance of fixing broken systems: http://informationoverpass.com/2011/12/06/a-real-world-usability-example/
