How long does it take to fully implement a basic marketing automation system?

Thor and Dave seem right on to me in terms of the estimates for SMBs. That's what we typically see at Pardot as well.
Definitely be afraid of vendors or consultants promosing 1 hour / 1 minute / 1 second (etc.) deployments! more

What are the reasons Salesforce.com has not acquired a marketing automation vendor?

I agree with you in theory Howard but they have, in the past, shown a willingness to do this. They invested in Financial Force, which is a shot at other accounting/financial partners. They have acquired knowledge base add-ons, etc.

Hi Chris -- they all work to varying degrees as others have said. Since the CRM plays a massive role in your business (even larger than marketing automation typically), I'd start there and then choose your marketing system based on that. more

Good question. Lead nurturing cadence is a bit tricky in that it is totally dependent on the type of nurturing track. For example:
