What would be the benefit of cloud applications that accept a token instead of a password?

The benefit is basically enhanced security. The last thing one wants going over the wire more than once for a given session is a real password. Tokens and SSO Assertions (that may even have tokens), such as SAML, are a more secure option. This is ... more
