always on environments; advising UK Government, MOD, Financial Institutions and other senior management on information security. Andrew presents information security in a clear and concise manner that is understood by both the technical and management audiences.
Prior to joining HP, Andrew’s experience included working for the Chief Security Officer
of UBS in supporting various financial departments from Private Banking to trading
systems to meet with the Basel II accord and the Sarbanes Oxley Act, addressing, in particular, challenges to the physical and information security of personnel and information both across borders and in countries.
Andrew Created “Biodentity Management”™ as an integrated Biometric authentication, Identity Management and Access Management solution enabling businesses to take advantage of the something you are and integrating it seamlessly into authentication and access control mechanisms.
Andrew hosts security seminars raising the issues of awareness and the necessity of a holistic approach, to include the legal, physical, social and electronic aspects of security to provide cost effective solutions.
Andrew proved a mechanism for combining email with Microsoft word to steal information by a user just reading the email. Following this, Andrew worked with Peter Simpson to develop Defuse, the worlds first anti virus mechanism which prevented the actions of a virus rather than rely on signatures thereby defending against unknown new viruses without the need for signature updates.
Andrew was a founding member of the Communications Electronic Security Group Listed Advisor Scheme and is a current Certified Information Systems Security Professional and member of the Cloud Security Alliance
