I Supervise a small group of IT professionals, including an IT Help Desk, Desktop Technicians, and Systems Administrators for a local government agency.

My section is responsible for deployment, repair,and disposal of about 400 PCs in the organization. In addition, the Systems Administrators are responsible for maintenance of forty servers, including Windows 2000, 2003, and 2008 servers, and the VMWare 3.51 server farm. We maintain two SANs with over 50TB of space. We also manage the network infrastructure for the five campus location in three cities.

This past year we implemented a VoIP phone system and a VoIP contact center.

Do you agree that the auditor is more feared than an attacker/hacker? Is this reasonable?

I don't know if the word "feared" is correct. Auditors are definitely more annoying than an attacker.

I recommend malwarebytes at http://www.malwarebytes.org. We find this software very effective. We have used tools from both Symantec and Trend, while we find these to be good at keeping PCs from being infected with malware. They do not do the best job of cleaning malware ... more

I recommend going to http://www.malwarebytes.org download the free version of this software and run this. Depending on the age and configuration of your PC, this software may take a couple of hours to run, but I've had great success with this software.
