Chris Marentis is the Founder and CEO of GenNext Media LLC, a revolutionary information services and interactive media and marketing company, and creator of the Surefire Social Local Internet Marketing System.
With nearly three decades of experience in media, marketing, and technology, Chris has a proven track record building businesses in turnaround, start-up and high growth situations. He has successfully created and implemented strategic plans, forged high-level strategic relationships and bridged marketing and media solutions with cutting-edge technology.
Most recently, Chris was President and COO at FortiusOne, a next-generation intelligent mapping solutions technology company implementing semantic web technology with a crowd source data collection strategy.
Prior to FortiusOne, Chris was CEO at Clearspring Technologies, a content/widget syndication platform for the distributed web. Recruited by the initial investors to build a business around the product technology ideas of the two co-founders, Chris led the company from its seed funding to its leadership position in a highly competitive Venture Capital-funded market, through rapid product development and key strategic alliances.
As Senior Vice President of AOL, Chris was responsible for new product development in the Interactive Marketing group. While there, Chris formulated a plan to create a new addressable marketing platform, delivering data/targeting services, message delivery services, and optimization systems that are being implemented today. Prior to that, Chris was Senior Vice President of Business Development. Chris is recognized for creating the "Anchor Tenant" content strategy, as well as for developing strategic content and interactive marketing relationships that generated over $700 million annually.
Earlier in his career, Chris held executive positions at innovative media/technology ventures such as Worldcom-funded Retail Sports Television, where he was CEO, and Miller Freeman, where he was Group Publisher.
