1. Deplorable deployment - only 20% of sales people are hunters. The rest think they are hunters and that is scary. When you give a lead to a farmer when a hunter is needed, you lose business.

What constitutes open? What is meaningful? Is an API sufficient for openness?

My response isn't necessarily limited to the cloud; which is ostensibly what this question is in reference to.
Open…? I'd say openness is composed of transparency, connectedness, and pro-activeness.
Transparency in the sense of honesty without leaking sensitive information.

I listen/watch about 2 hours of webinar material a week; sometimes more.
I agree with William as far as selecting archived material.

Is it 'taboo' to mention to your prospect that their competitors are your current customers?

My opinion is to definitely tell them the truth!
If they’re a prospect, and then turn into a customer, they'll more than likely find out their competitor is also your customer. After that, they'll no longer trust you.
