Ghazal Omid is an Iranian native devoted to her heritage and country. A Shi’a Islam Scholar and independent journalist, she has published her views about Islam on numerous sites. She is in process of writing Islam101, a book to help the average reader easily understand Islam and the differences between the practices of Shi’a and Sunni in so-called “Islamic States” and the real Islam. Overcoming immense difficulties in life that tested her faith, she remains a devoted Shi’a Muslim. As a Human Right activist, she has saved the lives of numerous political prisoners in Iran and intervened in the case of a Saudi woman being punished after being raped. Currently, she is creating a bridge between Iranians and Americans through art shows showcasing the work of artists from Iran.
Facilitate the UNCHR case for Maryam Sabri, a young woman who was raped in Prison in iran in the 2009which now lives in USA among other Human Rights work for political prisoners I have represented through. 2007- 2008
