What can I do about a noisy server room?

This is not an inexpensive solution, but moving away from local attached disk in servers will go a long way. Blade enclosures sharing power supplies, housing diskless servers that boot of SAN (hopefully housed in another room) will cut those decibels significantly.

Parallelization vs. Virtualization: What's the difference?
