There is no substitute for getting to know someone and sending them something that is valuable to them specifically. Look for things that are useful or especially things that save time. Not too much. You can even overdo a good thing.

If you can't give an employee a raise, what are other ways to reward them?

Try saying "great job" -- but only when it's deserved. You'd be surprised.
Measure and celebrate achievement.
I also thank my employees when it's appropriate -- they've done something good for me or for the company.

Marketing is a process. Focus on the process first and the automation second.
I tell my clients that I can find or adapt technology to fit any process. But if the clear understanding of the process is not there, you're cooked. more
