On the consumer end, Apple's new iPhone 4 has FaceTime which is video calling, but amounts to wireless VoIP when you click the "home button" and turn off the video.

That's a really complicated question that people have built careers on. If your network is big enough that you have to worry about design, it's probably worth talking to someone who knows what they're doing. Look up some local IT VARs and get their advice. more

Amazon S3 is certainly the popular option. It's pretty cheap, and widely supported. Price isn't unreasonable, but you can probably find cheaper options.

1. It outsources the cost of having multiple servers in multiple locations.
