Four years ago I sourced a Telephony System for my Property business. VoiP was the perfect technology as my company employed remote workers.
The IT company implementing the solution did not understand that a business required a reliable system with high quality speech.
I ended up spending weeks and weeks trying to obtain support and in the end resorted to learning the system myself.
I soon discovered the true business benefits of the technology and realised that the market was split between Traditional Telephony Companys that supplied a "box on the wall" PBX and IT Companies that could install the new technology but not necessarily meet business needs.
I had been working for a few years with Sean Ryan, my business partner in 500 in defending residents interests in our home town, St Albans. We became close friends, respecting each others skill sets.
I discovered that Sean was heading software teams (subcontracting work from Nokia) and proposed to him my idea of creating a company dedicated to Business Grade Telephony.
We agreed to become partners and formed "500" three years ago.
Our team has now grown to eight, each member being experts within different areas of Voip and Videoconferencing.
