Joshua Beil

I am part technology strategist, part business development / deal maker. I like to refer to what I do as "strategic development," and one of my passions is looking for new markets or alliances that fill and particular business gap, then executing on the deal and managing the relationship.

I have a background in market research, having been one of the youngest senior analysts at IDC as well as VP or Research and Development with the boutique firm Tier 1 Research. My research focus has been on PC/server shipments, web hosting, data centers, and outsourced and managed services. Now I am consumed by cloud computing.

In 2003, I co-founded a wireless ISP, Skywave Broadband, in my hometown on Honolulu. As a current member of the Board of Directors and strategic advisor, I hope to make Skywave as successful as possible through new customer acquisition and strategic alliances. I envisioned, negotiated and assist with the deals Skywave has in place at present with the local ILEC, Hawaiian Telcom, as well as Jamba Juice Hawaii.

Prior to Parallels, I was most recently Director of Offer Management at Level 3 Communications, in the Social Media & Technology Content Markets Group where I focus on product and market strategy withing the following verticals: social networks, video aggregators, virtual worlds, SaaS, and mobile entertainment.
