Are personality tests an effective candidate screening tool?

I think that personality assessment is better used to support a recruitment campaign rather than to screen candidates out of that process.
It's an obvious point but personality is only one part of what a recruiter is looking at during the selection process.

Yes, but only when it adds strength to the application. A weak LinkedIn profile, a twitter feed full of personal information and a blog which is badly written are better left off! more

Should job applicants include their current salary on their resume?

No.
Current salary isn't necessarily an indicator of what the candidate is worth. In my experience agencies are pretty insistent that they know it before putting a candidate forward to a client though! more
