DropBox does have an enterprise solution: DropBox Teams
Also, Box.Net has a very comprehensive enterprise solution with excellent management tools and 3rd party integration.

Should there be different definitions/explanations of cloud depending on who you're talking to (e.g. IT staff vs. C-level execs)?

Ben, The simple answer is "yes". IT staff need to understand how they interact with their technology environment at a very different level than the execs. IT staff also have different drivers for value than the customer/exec would.

I'm not sure what you mean by "straight IT", so I'll address it from the following point of view;
Straight IT = traditional silo'd, heavily architected, legacy application and infrastructure environments that are costly to maintain, and difficult to move or change.
