Nicole Cathcart is Vice President of Online Marketing and Brand Management of Thompson Media Group LLC. She began managing the web, email, events and creative services departments in 2010 and is focused on growing the online and new media channels.
As Vice President of Marketing at The Performance Institute from 2005-2010, Nicole was responsible for strategic planning, online marketing, branding, product development, corporate communications, and partnership development. Nicole frequently represented the Institute as a leader for the Innovations in Government Project and as a member of The Performance Coalition, a group of associations, private companies, and public policy schools at major universities that advise the White House on performance management initiatives. An advocate for the positive revenue implications of strategic employee engagement programs, she has presented on employment branding topics and authored white papers on talent management for The Washington Post and Monster Government Solutions.
Nicole began her career as an award-winning graphic designer before moving into marketing at the boutique real estate marketing firm Homevisit Productions. At Homevisit, she managed accounts including Coldwell Banker and Sotheby’s, helping clients plan and execute marketing campaigns for their luxury real estate divisions in the Washington, D.C., Los Angeles and San Diego metro areas. Her responsibilities at Homevisit included branding, account management, database and web-based software user interface design, art direction and graphic design.
Nicole has an international background, living eight years overseas in Europe, Central and South America. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from Loyola University New Orleans and holds certifications in Lean Six Sigma and Project Management. She is matriculating at The Johns Hopkins University, completing her Masters in Communication with a focus in Digital Technologies. Her areas of research include lifecycle email marketing, online usability as a persuasion method, and online engagement as a magnifier of success in traditional advertising channels.
