I have been in IT for a bit over 40 years,. I started in realtime, interrupt driven system development and have been involved in a wide variety of industries including financial/banking, hospital information systems, inventory systems (including ahaving designed and developed a complete Wine and Liquor Wholse Order Entry, Sales Invoicing, Inventory Management, and Tax Reporting System), I have been involved in data analysis, database design and development, and datamining since I got into IT and have been doing ETL for the last several years.

I am firmly committed to the concept that people should not work for computers but, instead, computers should work for people. By this I mean that any user interaction with a computerized system should make that user's life and job easier rather than the user having to make things easier for the comuterization of the system.
