Who are Teradata's major competitors?

What are the top trade shows to attend to learn more about data management and business analytics?

Data Warehousing Institutes conferences (TDWI.org) are generally a good place for solid (analytical) data management and business analytics training.
Otherwise, the best option may be vendor user conferences. Some of them are very, very good. more

Would you recommend datamart or data warehouse for a first time BI project?

I still think for companies without data marts or data warehouses, primarily medium-sized companies, the best place to start is a data mart. Companies with legacy marts/warehouses may be able to reengineer with an enterprise data warehouse. Figure out your purpose, check your resources. more

Does Exadata integrate with non Oracle BI tools?

Exadata is an optimized storage back-end for Oracle databases, therefore any BI tool that can interface with the Oracle DBMS -- and there are MANY -- can work (albeit indirectly) with Exadata. more
