In B2B studies, gender doesn't often play a big role. Unless the specific study calls for it (I can't even think of an example it's that rare), I don't see how gender profiling is necessary. more

What's the best way to promote a survey without compromising the integrity of the data?

I would start with just the places the targeted group hangs out. If that doesn't get you to your target responses, add qualifying questions so you can weed out those who don't match your needs, but ask everyone. more
