Sue Chiang

Sue leads CEH's work to create market incentives for the electronics industry to design, manufacture, and handle their products at the end-of-life in a way that protects public health. She works closely with large institutional purchasers, particularly in the healthcare sector, to promote the sustainable purchase, management and disposal of electronic products. Sue served on the EPEAT (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool) Board of Advisors for two years, joining before the launch of the first standard for computers. She also is a member of the Steering Committee of the Electronics TakeBack Coalition. Before joining CEH, Sue served as a consultant to the San Francisco Foundation's Environmental Health and Justice Initiative and a community health advocate at Greenaction. She also spent over four years at the Environmental Defense Fund researching community right-to-know issues, investigating California Proposition 65 cases, and conducting grassroots outreach for EDF's Chemical Scorecard. Sue received a B.A. degree in environmental science from Barnard College/Columbia University and completed a double-masters program at the University of California Berkeley's Goldman School of Public Policy and the Graduate School of Public Health.
