Susan Schaper

Susan Hewitt Schaper, Esq., is an experienced lawyer, consultant, author and educator. An expert in small and medium enterprise development and technical assistance, she crafted the curriculum the New Jersey Economic Development Authority still uses to train hopeful entrepreneurs. She is credited with the development of The Entrepreneurial Training Institute's online self-assessment tool, cited by the Aspen Institute's FIELD guide as a best practice, and is a co-creator of the groundbreaking Business Model Generation, one of her most-recommended books. She has guided the development of thousands of business plans, many of which have gone on to receive funding, and has led the design and implementation of results-oriented marketing, communications, change, management and operations plans. She has lead consulting project teams and designed consulting interventions that utilize the best of new technologies and leading-edge methodologies to enhance individual and firm performance across a broad spectrum of industries, including pharma, defense, technology, professional services and retail. She began teaching entrepreneurship before Google was a firm, and has served as an adjunct professor in prestigious undergrad and graduate programs in both entrepreneurship and management consulting in the years following.
