Teresa Dentino

Recognized nationwide as one of the founders in the developing realm of women’s financial education, Teresa Dentino has over twenty-five years of experience studying and teaching about the financial issues women of all ages and experiences face.

While working as a stockbroker in San Francisco in 1985, Ms. Dentino witnessed the dismissal with which the financial world treated women, even though they were becoming an increasingly important clientele due to divorces and spousal deaths. After pinpointing the need for a financial education source that women could trust and rely on, she tailored her financial advice in a way that resonated with women. Her firm recognized the unarguable connection between Ms. Dentino and their female clients and chose her, among only a handful of financial advisors nationwide, to to participate in the first-ever Wall Street program designed to address women as serious investors.

Combining her widespread knowledge and national recognition, Ms. Dentino created and managed her own full-service brokerage firm where she continued helping women achieve financial freedom. She was also able to refine her empirical insights into the financial needs and habits of women.

In 2001, Ms. Dentino founded The Financial 411, a revolutionary financial education firm with the goal of uniting women and money without the chaos and confusion that often exists between the two. The Financial 411 provides women with an opportunity to feel confident when asking even the most basic financial questions and gives women answers that take their learning styles and preferences into consideration. The Financial 411 aims to prove that you do not have to be a financial expert to develop healthy financial habits. Recently appointed to the Illini Women's Connection Advisory Board, Ms. Dentino also serves as a member of Watermark, 85Broads, and the Institute of Divorce Financial Analysts. She was invited to participate in the 1st and 2nd national We Own It summit in the company of an exclusive group of 200 fellow national leaders. Currently she is working on her 2nd book to support women in their financial empowerment process. She enjoys various community service activities along with playing Polo and horseback riding. She resides in Woodside, California.
