Any advice on how to make your website for free?
Are there any tools our there to help me make a website for free. I have bought a domain name and all I want to do is set up a site that gives basic company information, but I don't want to spend a lot of money on setting it up. Any suggestions?

Hi Bob, there's a couple of areas to consider when building a website Firstly, Hosting - There's plenty of low/no-cost providers out there (I use www.one.com)
Secondly, Site creation/management - several low/no-cost options here:
(a) Develop website using Google Apps (provides basic templates)
(b) Hand code it in HTML (this may need some technical knowledge or you could simply build a simple website in Microsoft Word and then do 'Save As HTML')
(c) Use something like Wordpress to build a blog-based website
(d) Use a blog hosting service (e.g. blogger.com)
A simple-ish approach would be to have your domain name hosted with a host service provider, say one.com, and have a simple redirect from there to wherever the site is physically located (e.g. Google Apps, Blogger, etc).
Hope this is of use!

There are plenty of free solutions to build your site with, but as all things free... it will eventually show... at least to the discerning eye. Most of the free solutions still need some knowledge of HTML; frontpage, dreamweaver, etc. There are other out of the box application found with most host that will give you a template to use and all you will need is plug in your content and publish. However, this lack the power of customization and it will not be surprising to stumble upon a site that is exactly like yours safe for the name!
If you are running a legitimate business, i would advice some professional service.. remember you are selling a brand and in this day and age, packaging is everything. Perhaps it just my bias as a developer/designer. but i do believe that you get what you pay for. There are plenty of bargain around where you can get a decent professional site without breaking the bank
Google Sites would be my recommendation.

Even when the service was still JotSpot, I've found it to be the quickest and easiest way to get a simple website up. For your purposes it sounds like it would be a good fit, and yes it is free.
Bob, You can use wordpress to develop your website. It has thousands of free themes that you can use as your design and it is also free of use.
