I would stay with your rack servers if it’s small installation. For instance, a small SATA SAN/NAS with WINTEL racked servers could be a better choice. Of course, blades could help you save energy, but I would think about your size and needs in order to decide.

Depends on your needs. Blade servers aren't the miracle response to efficiency. Keep in mind: cooling, noise and power. Chances are you will have to increase cooling capacity, increase power capacity, to save what? Sqft? Do the cost analysis of your ROI on expanding your DC vs ramping up power and cooling for a blade center. OH and if you have a catastrophic failure (A/C out, generator out, power out, exhaust fan useless), your blade center will gown down quicker than you can blink because of the cooling (or lack their of)
I've worked with Dell, IBM, and HP Blades. IBM makes the most expensive, however, most efficient blade technology. Dell and HP couldn't light a match to IBM. The management of the servers is tremendously better from IBM as well as the technology.
If you're building a Citrix Farm, small DR site, VM environment, then blade away, but if you're talking about Exchange forget it. Stick with your rack servers
