Are learning management systems (LMS) widely used in the corporate world?

In a word - yes. But the big question is not on usage - but on the value they deliver.

Most of the electronic learning management systems can do an extremely capable job of helping manage learning administration and guiding learning too and even serving that learning (e-learning) style.

But too much of training and development at a corporate level is still shrouded in happy sheet evaluations - rather than ROI calculations. So whether the usage of LMS is a help or a hindrance remains a murky area.
