Pull, don't push. If you are "selling" on Social Media you are going to be disappointed and more importantly, will be labeled as someone who doesn't "get it".

@ Miles, I mentioned about pull on http://www.focus.com/questions/poll-goodbad-tactic-yn-giving-away-ipad-good-w...

To save time and effort, I'm sharing that which I had posted on the Health and Fitness without a Gym http://www.facebook.com/groups/407035060832 group regarding pull:

"I met the parents of a member and that I mentioned to them that working out would be of value to them. I told them to join the gym including because of the trainers who would help them start unless they can get the same at their home or elsewhere. The father has had a heart bypass surgery and so he was unsure. He mentioned that he has been offered a three day complimentary pass to the gym. I told him that the gym has a physiotherapist and that I had the physiotherapist discuss with him in more detail. After that the father thanked me for pushing him into this. They also thought that I was a part of the gym's team. I told them that I've trained several people in martial arts over the years and that for me it's about their health and fitness including because I know their son. I also told them that it's not about pushing him but pulling him because I can't push him towards me which he liked. I wish their best! I also mentioned to the gym that have a three or five or whatever day complimentary pass available over a longer period like a month or so because then people would be more likely to come to gym the so many number of days and that which is required for people to gain interest in joining the gym."

Best!
