Hi Trevor,
That is sooo dependent on the printing requirements - speed, colour, monthly volume, peak volume & other requirements like duplex, number of paper trays. Generally if your number of employees is from a work group and upwards, the ROI is very short for copier/printers (MFD) compared to just printers. We've just analysed a small customer (60 users), already printing 50% of their volume on a MFD and could demonstrate savings of £45.000 over 5 year, including capital costs for new equipment and ROI of 15 months, simply with changing devices and output strategy.
Best regards
Henrik
Not really an answer to your question, but a food for thought type answer.
What we found is that our printing requirements for a 75 person office are pretty variable. So we went to a company who sold refurbished printers and bought the highest-spec one they had. This turned out to be an HP 9040dn. Nice printer - big enough to house a crowd. It is over-specced on our printing requirements by a factor of about 5 but it is so far under-utilised that the maintenance on it should be very low. Our total outlay for this was around $1200 and we've dealt with printing requirments for 75 people

In my opinion the Ricoh SP C420dn is the most complete and cost effective network printer in the market able to handle responsible print volumes. This little powerhouse prints 30 pages per minute colour and mono, and is available with a fully comprehensive service and support contract including all parts, labour, callout, and consumables. This gives you complete transparency of cost for management reporting and budgetary requirements. The built-in smart device monitor (client and admin versions) allows for IP Address web browser remote diagnostics for day to day monitoring.
I am happy to supply prices for delivery throughout Europe.
