Benefits of salesforce.com vs saleslogix?
Anybody feel strongly about one over the other? If I don't make a decision soon I'm afraid I will lose my budget. Thanks!

Hi Todd
Before I start, yes I work with a consultancy that implements Salesforce.com. We also work with Zoho CRM so not one-eyed about this.
You will get many answers that will not give you any clear pointers as everyone has their favourite.
However, assuming that both appear to meet your organisation's needs, just ask yourself one simple question. Which company is the runaway leader in the on demand CRM/SFA space? There has to be reasons! Would you rather be with the market leader or one of the pack?
We replace Sales Logix regularly and they almost never appear in the competitive landscape for new license sales. That also tells me something.
SalesLogix any Day!!
Definitely SalesLogix. Worked with both. No comparison.
I've worked with both and others like Sugar (good); Zoho (a nightmare); Act (simply excellent); Netsuite (ok) and I would go with SalesLogix. It's essentially based on Act and I like it because of the ease of use and scalability and customization. The one thing I look for in a CRM is simplicity for sales reps to use and for management to manage and SalesLogix has both.
Salesforce.com.
It's the leader in cloud computing and everyone is following suit. SalesLogix just recently introduced their cloud version and I haven't seen it but they are way behind the curve here. Yes, I'm biased because I have been implementing Salesforce.com solutions for the last 5 years starting in 2005 and I have never seen any of my clients consider SalesLogix. In fact, I have replaced SalesLogix about 10 times and Seibel the majority of times with Salesforce.com. The competition now is between Salesforce.com, Microsoft, and Oracle OnDemand - that's who I see in most new deals. Costs differ based on your license needs and requirements so you'll have to do the comparison because I'm not familiar with SalesLogix costs. Just take a look at the Salesforce client list. And do your research/comparison before picking.
