1 Answer
Traditionally, Corporate Performance has been used to differentiate performance of different business units/profit centers. Major work in this area was done by the Boston Consulting Group ("PIMS matrix, i.e. stars, dogs, cash cows, etc.) and was published in HBR in the mid-80's (Author = Bruce Henderson.) Using this distinction, "Business Performance" refers to the results on measures of a single business unit/profit center. Another use of "Corporate" vs. "Business" is to distinguish purely business/financial measures from other "Balanced Scorecard" measures such as customer, operational, and learning/growth measures (Kaplan & Norton.)
