Many service/support organizations have been using 'gamification' techniques for a while now. For example, some companies run community discussion groups and reward people who provide useful content (as judged by the community) with points, status, and sometimes small gifts. Is there more to learn? Probably. Depends on whether or not 'gamification' as a discipline is here to stay.
