Matt: That's a question that could touch on a very wide range of solutions and perspectives. As you know, technology is changing all the time. RF can be active or passive, and it has all sorts of potential applications. The application that I am most familiar with was in a transporation company I worked for. They tagged their rolling stock and placed readers in strategic locations. They used it to maintain control of their equipment: tractors, containers, chassis, gen sets, etc. Not only did it help them ascertain what whas where and when; they fed that information into their online shipment tracing system so that customers could monitor the movement of their freight. This application also eliminated costly manual equipment checks in their freight yards and automatically matched containers with their chassis, eliminating a manual process and its attendant data entry errors.
