Can a small business implement a Virtual Desktop Infrastructure economically?
I have been using Terminal Services as a type of desktop virtualization, and this can work with user provided machines (e.g. an intern with laptop, etc.), but implementing a true Virtual Desktop Infrastructure seems like a more logical approach. However, as the title suggests, can this be done economically by a small business (

I believe it can easily be done economically. I have built several test environments with open source software (virtualbox and kvm) and the idea is to run a headless server that spawns vrdp sessions that desktops either booted to windows, linux, pxe or a live cd can connect to.
There are other methods and commercial products but for me vrdp is the simplest way to get off the ground. I have tried ncomputing before virtualization really evolved and that may work but it is less flexible and more costly.
