Can you use Simply Hired's Facebook-integrated job search function as a recruitment solution?
Simply Hired allows you to use your Facebook network as a tool to help you find a job. Its Where Your Friends Work page gives you a company directory of your friends' companies -- helpful if you haven't kept track of your grade school buddies' career trajectory. Access to this information can work both ways, though. You can also use it as a recruitment tool. Is this on anyone's radar screen?

Wow, this sounds like an amazing tool as it allows you to fast forward twenty years (high school connections) to potentially expand your network and find that perfect fit job! Typically Facebook is used to connect to old friend (aka classmates from high school and college) - this tool connect your job search to a much more vast community and network. It can potentially expotentially increase your network and connect the dots that lead to an amazing new beginning in your dream job. Don't they say - Its not what you know, but who you know?
My 2 cents,

Beyond a shadow of doubt, there could be nothing better than this. Its like hitting 3 birds with one stone... *** expanding one's network '*** connecting to old pals*** and viewing their performance too , on account of views/comments/recommendations posted over a span of time . This undoubtedly serves as a first hand knowledge for any interviewer too.
Of course, its a little too early now - as I note, many are still new to this in some countries and probably in a year's time this may be achievable - as one of the most potential tools for recruitment.
But one point to note is that most women change their surname after marriage, so, its not that easy to find them, as I realized during my search for classmates / colleagues. ( i continue to retain my old name even after marriage, so luckily my friends were able to connect to me )
My suggestion would be to include a search column stating "name before marriage" as well, considering this helps, especially when it comes to tracking down old friends/ colleagues.
Cheers,
I don't use my Facebook contacts for professional networking, there's not much point only a couple of them are in the same industries as me and they are already in my professional network on LinkedIn.
When you are looking for a job you need to network and let as many people know you are looking as possible. 80% of jobs are filled through networking. I am not sure I would connect my facebook unless you only use it for business.
This is just one of many tools you need to use to find your next job. The internet should be roughly 30% of your search. Getting in front of people is what works. You need to go to meetings, meet new people and build friendships. Referrals come from meeting people face to face. Take a look at my linkedin I have posted a couple of tools for you to take advantage of. Good luck with your search.
I agree with Nik, if you are going to use social media for recruiting use LinkedIn. Facebook is a site where you might promote your company or brand to build brand awareness, Twitter can be used for the same.
