Absolutely! As my various businesses have grown, I've had to learn bookkeeping, accounting principles, audit processes, finance including private equity, contract law, employment law, payroll, HR, technology, and a little about IP telephony, networks, firewalls, etc. It's not because of the economy - it's a necessary component of launching and growing a business regardless of the economic climate.
