Do you have any recommendations for a good Skype headset?
I use Skype primarily for business so I'm taking this question to the Focus Expert community. If you have a good headset recommendation, I'd love the make and model. And if you have a favorite feature (e.g. a noise-cancelling microphone), what is it?

Hi Tom,
I would strongly recommend taking a look at the Plantronics Blackwire Headset Family. Main feature I like is that you get In-Line Volume and Call Control when using them with Skype. I personally like the Blackwire C420, not only because it has leatherette ear cushions, great audio quality plus noise cancellation, but also because it's foldable and it comes with a carrying pouch. Very convenient!

Hi Scott,
We at Plantronics have several solutions, it all depends on the environment you use the headset in.
BlackWire C420 (Corded)

Savi W430 (Wireless)

Voyager PRO UC B230 (Bluetooth)

These are all good recommendations.
I travel a lot and space is limited so I have been using Freetalk Everyman Headset http://shop.skype.com/headsets/usb/iss-talk-5115-everyman/.
* It folds up flat so it doesn't take up space in my bag.
* The sound is not something I would want to listen to music with but for conf calls it works.
* The mic works better then other traveling headsets that I've tried. I have never had anyone complain about how I sound.
* This works well on my Macbook, Lenovo laptop with Win7, and the quick get out of the office/house Asus EEE laptop running Ubuntu.
* Plus for the price, if these break or are stolen, its easy to replace with out a lot of investment.
Hope this helps.
I am off to check out some of these other suggestions for my stationary office space. I am thinking something nice and padded.
I'm on the phone a good 8 hours a day most days (via skype or google voice via chrome) and use my bose qc15 headphones and either use the built-in mic on my macbook air, or if I really want to be hardcore I plug in my blue yeti mic (http://www.amazon.com/Blue-Microphones-Yeti-USB-Microphone/dp/B002VA464S). Every "headset" I've ever tried was uncomfortable or the mic/speakers were bad. QC15's are really comfortable, the noise cancellation is the best you can buy, and the sound quality is great. Couple that with a decent mic (macbook) or a fantastic mic (yeti), and you are #winning. :)
Hi Scott, I use this one from Logitech, it is behind the head design so no pain on the ears.

Logitech and Plantronics are both good.
My experience is with Gaming and Netmeeting/Microsoft Communicator. Analog headsets have high background noise, interference. Use USB or Bluetooth headset. If you are satisfied with the Bluetooth headset you use with your cell phone then try it on Skype. If you use Skype on your smartphone or tablet then of course you will be using your handsfree device anyway.
