Do you outsource your payroll management?
We currently process payroll in house, but it’s getting to be a bit of a hassle. We’re looking into places like Accuchex or ADP to provide payroll management services for us – what do you recommend? Is it better to keep payroll management in house, or do you like having it outsourced? If it’s outsourced, what company would you recommend looking into?

I think using a payroll service makes sense. It is usually not part of your organizations core competencies. Properly put together it can ensure that you are in compliance with Fair Labor Standards Act. You the employer are required to be the keeper of the record. Most of the payroll processor are designed to be able to get you in compliance. When you are looking to use a payroll company you want to look at ease of use, reports, compliance, and then cost. I usually base the decision on who I trust. The more employees the more capabilities you need.
For most SMEs the payroll service is an obvious option. We use http://www.smartpayroll.co.nz/, the exact same service may not be available in all markets, but even if not, it's a good benchmark comparison for anyone looking for an on line service. Good luck with your search.
