Do you take on recent grads?
I've been having a bit of a debate with a friend about whether or not to hire recent graduates full-time. He won't hire anyone without "real-world" experience, but I feel that hiring fresh grads brings a lot of enthusiasm and cutting edge talent to my business. What are your thoughts?

Absolutely, if you are in a company with over 100 employees you should be making room for fresh grads. Where do you think people got the "real world" experience in the first place? You'll get the enthusiasm, all right, but you may also find that fresh grads have new ideas. And, "growing your own" talent is a great feeling!
Be sure, though, that you have a good "onboarding" process in place AND have more experienced staff willing to mentor your newbies!
Am not in a position to do so today, but certainly would do if I had the chance to! Conditions for success though are all in the intake process and ensuring that a "mentoring" and "growth" plan for each individual are in place.
