Do you use biometrics to secure access to internal assets? If so, what kind of biometrics?
3M is buying Cogent, a biometrics firm, for around $950 million: http://www.businessweek.com/news/2010-08-30/3m-may-see-competition-in-bid-to-purchase-cogent.html Obviously 3M thinks that biometrics will continue to be a solid growth sector. Do you agree? Are you starting to implement more biometric based security systems?

Dan,
We do use biometric fingerprint scanners for access to our Data Center. Yes we do have plans to increase the use of this system as it has proven to be a cost and management savings. We no longer have to reconcile key fobs or perform urgent actions when a fob or key is lost. There has been a great time savings from not having to manage and account for the inventory of keys. As the technology becomes more mature and less expensive I can see this being implemented much more widely than it is now.
