Do you use more than one desktop security client?
I ask because I do. I use a free antivirus product and because of my past employment with Webroot Software I use their SypSweeper product. That plus the automatic blocking of malicious sites by Firefox seems to do the trick.
Do you get by with a single product? Norton? McAfee? AVG? Which one? Or do you feel you need belt and suspenders?
Please don't tell me you use nothing!!!!

that's a lot of tools. You're using most of your system memory on tools overlapping each other. I use norton only use the antivirus (avg is not laso good ) . Keep windows upto date, do not download nor install these free coupon or other type of software. The offers are temping (free vacation and so on). Remove any duplicate antivirus, remove those other blocks unless you already have some malicious software intall in your system that require blocking. The firefox site blocking system is good. if you use IE do the sames.
To optimize your system use the diskfrag, than at the c: prompt type chkdsk /F. next time you reboot it will fix your file/allocation tables. Good luck
