Do you use open source security tools? Which ones?
Many of the basic requirements for security can be achieved through the use of open source tools. Nessus for security scanning, PGP for encryption, Metasploit for attack and penetration, Snort for IDS. Which, if any, do you use?

Richard,
I use a variety of open source tools regularly, including nMap, GnuPG and WireShark (although not strictly for security). On occasion, I also use Nessus and Metasploit, although not as regularly.

Thanks Andrew! Have you tried Netwitness? The free download is pretty effective. I think of it as Wireshark with intelligence.
Hello,
I can add OSSIM Open Source Security Information Management (http://www.ossim.net), Inegrates many tools within a single open architecture Arpwatch, P0f, pads, Nessus / OpenVAS, Ntop, Snort, tcptrack, tcpdump, Nmap, Spade, Nagios, Osiris, OCSInventory-NG, OSSEC ...
also SIGVI (http://sigvi.upcnet.es/index.php) which is an application to detect, notify and manage the system vulnerabilities.
