Does anyone know of any good authoritative references regarding website architecture?

I am familiar with siloing, via articles by Bruce Clay and pyramids and silos, via Chaddo videos but I am really looking for references with information about keyword links, landing pages, navigation links and website architecture best practices ... maybe even references that include examples.

Also, does anyone have any comments about results from Blekko's domainlinks slashtag? Is it reliable?

Hi Darren,

SEO Moz - Rand Fishkin and the group over there in my opinion (and many others) put out some excellent information that drills down into the areas you are seeking assistance with. They have a library of information. Most of it is free but for certain tools they offer and other well worth it perks they have a subscription fee of 100.00 per month. I have not heard of the other's you mention.

blekko's domainlinks slashtag:
Here's one article in particlular that talks about this and is from an authoritative source (Danny Sullivan) http://searchengineland.com/blekko-expands-bigger-index-more-slashtags-new-de... but if you look at the bottom of that page you'll see even more coverage on blekko and the slashtag.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Jennifer,

I am familiar with SEOmoz and Rand Fishkin, as I read SEOmoz daily. I particularly enjoyed watching a couple white board Friday videos in the past, where Rand speaks with David Mihm. I took your advice anyways though Jennifer and spent the majority of last night reading articles on SEOmoz and watching a bunch of whiteboard Friday videos, spending more time than I usually would on SEOmoz.

I am actually looking for articles that demonstrate the optimal distribution of link equity throughout a website property. Since I was unsuccessful in finding the specifics of what I needed to know I will have to research the SERPs for specific search queries or initiate some testing of my own across one or two test sites.

I was hoping to start a discussion about Blekko, I use the search engine all the time although I don't believe the anchor text information within the domain link slashtag is reliable. I partially read the article you suggested and it was interesting to find out that the Russian search engine Yandex invested $300 million in Blekko.

Besides the data you can get from Blekko, what do you like about it?

oh I think I know, I just read something about how they rank pages ...users have a hand in it, in addition to the algorithims in place. Interesting.....

You know you should really request an article on the exact topic you are looking from SEO Moz...they are always asking for suggestions.and I am sure they would appreciate it since coming up with fresh content to write about is challenging.

Besides data? It's a visually appealing site... Just joking. I don't know... Realistically it's all about the data. I like that Blekko gives a nice snapshot of a website's link portfolio. You can get insight into where the competition is attaining links and how Blekko ranks each link according to their host rank metric.

Thanks Abdul,
P.S. checked out your blog and saw a post on brown hat SEO which I have never heard of before, too bad the article was in Tamil (I think... sorry if I am wrong). I read a funny note in the DigitalPoint Forum about brown hat: "Brown hat is what Google does to your white hat after catching you doing black hat."

blekko may just improve that now if it sees the opportunity it has to become popular by offering information to SEO's that other search engines are withholding. Who better to promote your engine than SEO's themselves. They stand to gain a lot of exposure.
