Does anyone know of a reputable human resources college?
I have a few openings coming up and I want to try to hire some kids fresh out of college, but I also want them to have some knowledge about HR. Are there any colleges out there that have good HR programs that I should be aware of?

I know that there are many HR specific course that may be taken through an assortment of different colleges and unviersities; but Phoenix is fairly well recognized and has the ability to learn on line.
I received my CHRP (which is Canadian) and basically it is a professional designation accomplished through examinations based on knowledge as well as practical experience. I also have a Management Certificate in Human Resources which I received through the University of Calgary. So...as I say...there are a few different options.
But, check out Phoenix - I'm sure they can give you what you're looking for.

In the US, the University of Minnesota, Cornell and the University of Illinois have outstanding Human Resources programs, particularly at the post-graduate level.
Yes, Cornell's School of Industrial and Labor Relations (aka, the ILR School). Definitely top tier.
Stanford has an excellent HRM program.
I would recommend Capella University in Minneapolis, MN. Their HR programs have been recognized favorably by SHRM, they are accredited, and offer a wonderful online learning program.

Your answer may depend in which part of the country you are located. The grad program at U of MN Carlson School of Business is nationally ranked.
I graduated from Towson University in Towson (Baltimore) Maryland which is part of the University of MD University system with a Masters in Human Resources Development. It's been a while but when I started working in HR, my Managers as well as all the Directors and COO were very impressed with my broad range and in-depth knowledge of HR; especially the strategic areas such as Performance Management. I believe they now offer all or a lot of the courses online. Hope this helps. If interested let me know, I have a transcript around and could list the courses I took to fulfill the requirements.
