I've been the marketing strategist and director for industrial companies for over 15 years (the last 10, I've been on my own) and I have this maxim I use "titles, committees and companies don't make buying decisions -- PEOPLE do." In the past, my experience has been that agencies with a consumer bent got me better results because they treated my target market like a person and not an engineer or a lawyer or a doctor. The consumer agencies were far better at tuning into my audience and the emotional triggers they use to buy my product. I've been using consumer agencies to market to industrial companies since then.
