For small and Medium scale business customers SIP based PBX application is very cost effective, where SMB's can save their spending on PBX almost 50%.
SIP based PBX products can fit any size business, from small to Enterprise. I personally know of one account that has over 8000 SIP end users. And I know of some that have 4 or less.
Medium sized business's can implement a SIP based products and have the same benefits of small and large Businesses. Smaller footprint PBX product - generally server based, open standards based telephone which are compatible with multiple platforms rather than a sunken investment in proprietary equipment, Unified Messaging, lower cost SIP trunks, use of existing network cabling with VLAN's, ease of configuration and deployment to name a few.
Yes - your medium business can benefit from SIP if it is designed and implemented correctly.
