E CRM: Any suggestions on a low cost or free hosted CRM?

We are a very small business with a new employee and myself handling all of the sales activites in our business. I am looking for a hosted, web-based CRM solution that is low cost or even free to handle basic tracking of our sales leads and activities. Any suggestions?

Robert - definitely take a look at Work-etc CRM - www.worketc.com. We originally started with it to manage simple sales leads that were coming in via the phone and from existing customers. Great for that. But because Worketc also did project management and billing, we soon ditched Basecamp for projects. So - by just running worketc, we could run our entire small business. And pretty cheaptoo.

It has Contact, Calendar, Sales management and email. It recently launches Blog for each user to post ideas, product updates, etc. It has similar user interface like Outlook to reduce your learning curve.

There are many companies offering affordable hosted (SaaS) CRM solutions,

check:
http://www.zoho.com/crm

For hosted SugarCRM, one of the most prestigious open source CRM solutions, check:
http://www.a2hosting.com/crm/sugarcrm-hosting
http://www.m8solutions.com/sugar-crm/compare-plans

For hosted Vtiger CRM, similar to Sugar but with some modifications, check:
http://www.a2hosting.com/crm/vtigercrm-hosting
http://www.onweald.com/content/view/42/2/

all the above should cost less than $50/month on average

Depends on your needs...I recommend http://www.visionpipeline.com for individuals and independents. It's simple and easy. Not robust....but not intimidating. And it's free.

is this company a b2b or b2c? Difference is some b2c can use contact management, while most b2b companies should be using true CRM, which tied everything to the account level instead of the contact level.

That being said, Zoho CRM is a good free option for basics. For contact management with opportunity tracking, Basecamp or Highrise are good options which also integrate social CRM.
