ERP ppt: Need a template I can use to convince management.

I am trying to put together a presentation for our management team explaining the reasons why we need to purchase and implement an ERP system Is there a template out there that someone has used in the past?

Dear Chris,

If you can tell a bit about the kind of business your organization is in, i can help you with a relevant template.

Hi Chris,

Some advice :-)

Before you put your reputation on the line with a nice slideshow of beautified (Enterprise Resource Problems).

Take into consideration that ERP is a large investment with a long ROI cycle. In many cases ERP was decided too much on this: "Optimize Business Processes" All current users of ERP are now stuck with the same problem. ERP is very departmental and often cannot be modified to create a perfect flow for your enterprise. Users will learn to do processes the way ERP dictates, even if it is not efficient.

Hi Chris,

Well...nice fancy presentations may help you convince your management buy an ERP system but what I would really ask you is what are your requirements. Are you looking for a budgeting software or is it something specific you actually want to accomplish buying the ERP? ERP systems could actually be very cumbersome and big and in certain cases eventually dictate the processes your company should follow rather than meeting the current processes. In this tech world wouldn't the management want all numbers instantly and not have to wait for certain processes to finish...think about it...and let us know your requirements.

Hi Chris. Were you assigned to head up the project? From this point forward, your 'honor' is on the line :-) How many employees, how many locations, Cross-Platform? Unix? Windows? How are you currently tracking CRM/ERP data? ERP usually integrates CRM, HR, Accounting, Inventory, JIT, etc, etc.; and is one of the most difficult and failure prone projects to attempt. You are wise to seek a basic template but most of the ERP folks are going to ask the same initial basic questions like the ones above and more. As an ITS consultant, I will offer my best and most free advice. ERP & CRM projects should start on the lowest and the highest levels in the company. Executives must buy in but most don't have a clue about the trenches - while those on the lowest levels are ignorant of the top levels. Consult your Network guru's, all locations and every Department Manager. Talk to all of them in their offices and then you'll have taken a first great step. Best of luck and my prayers go with you! Dear Chris
Whatever be yoru business ERP can help you a lot This basically do away with the redundancy in operations, and give you real time data for judicial decisions. This also integrate your various logistics and SCM for timely execution of jobs to satisfy your customers. On the account of more labour, innacurate data, loss of communication and delay you get things quicker and faster. This compress your cycle time. Ofcourse the old adage is tru garbage in garbage out. So answer to the below questions first.
1) Why we want this?
2) What all we need in this or integrate in to this?
3) What budget we look for?
4) What are my weak areas?
5) What are the demands
