Is the ERP Systems Buyers Guide of 2009 usable worldwide ? European ? Or at a specific country?

Hello, I was wondering if that guide is general for any country or if it's specifically designed for a certain country, or for Europe? Cheers Sven

Hi Sven,

Although the ERP Systems Buyer's Guide was written primarily with a U.S. audience in mind, most ERP features and requirements are universal. And because of issues such as global workforces and reqired compliance with international regulations -- International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), e.g. -- ERP systems providers tend to offer global solutions and support for their products.

Companies featured in the buyer's guide -- Sage, Infor, Microsoft and Oracle, for example -- have a strong international presence and provide features in their products designed for an international audience. And these solutions aren't geared only toward enterprises. ERP vendors are recognizing that small businesses do business internationally and require access to features allowing them to do so.

Focus' complementary 2010 Midmarket/Enterprise ERP Solutions Comparison Guide (http://www.focus.com/research/comparison-guides/erp/comparison-guide-midmarke...) specifically discusses features key to international businesses.

Hope this helps!

Well, I'll add the reason I asked this question, so maybe you can summarize an easier answer. I understand what you're saying but it's rather vague what the answer is on what i really want to know.

I write my thesis on open source ERP. I used the buyers guide as a source. Now my professor wants to know if those criteria are usable for Belgium only, for several countries, for Europe or worldwide?

Cheers,
Sven
