Field Marketing: What's the difference between field marketing and corporate marketing?

I see a general trend on this, but I'd love to hear the distinction between field and corporate marketing in your organization or in your past experiences.

Corporate marketing presents the company's solutions in a high level format to the general market. Field marketing distills messaging and creates deliverables for prospect and customer engagement.

Field marketing is generally known as a demand generation position. It is a euphemism for lead generation. I was just talking to a CMO at Saba Software about their field marketing role. It was clearly a demand generation position.

On the other hand, corporate marketing covers all aspects of marketing -- branding, partnerships, channels, etc.

Hope that helps, Craig.
